hi Balderscape
- [04:17:37] <Balderscape>
hi
- [04:18:48] <III>
whats going on?
- [04:19:29] <Balderscape>
I have developed a product that used the gumstix overo as the CPU board
- [04:20:06] <Balderscape>
We basically have 2 USB hub chips on board that give you 4 ports off the OTG bus and 4 ports off the EHCI port
- [04:20:19] <Balderscape>
It also provides all the power and a few other things
- [04:20:43] <Balderscape>
We have found that with the OTG port, everything is working fine however with the EHCI port we have an issue
- [04:21:19] <Balderscape>
If you plug in a peripheral to one of the EHCI ports (i.e. to one of our hub ports) before you boot the board, then it works fine
- [04:21:52] <Balderscape>
however if you disconnect the peripheral then the EHCI host port gets suspended and the nub disappears off the bus
- [04:21:52] <III>
hmm not played with gumstix's overo
- [04:22:05] <Balderscape>
then the port is not usable until you reboot
- [04:22:32] <Balderscape>
Ok, I am assuming it is not overo specific, rather a driver issue in the EHCI driver of the kernel
- [04:23:10] <Balderscape>
as the port works fine if you have a peripheral connected at all times, it is just that it incorrectly suspends the hub (or disables the port) when the peripheral is removed
- [04:33:36] * III look on our wiki for some info but no a lot there... http://omappedia.org/wiki/USB_Patch_Status

hey Dallas dudes, you guys awake yet?
- [14:29:48] <XorA>
prpplague: make loud noises wake them up :-)
- [14:29:52] <Vikas>
I am early riser and worker... am awake...
- [14:30:08] <XorA>
does anyone there boot their zoom2 from NAND
- [14:30:42] <Vikas>
i used mostly the sd card boot.... but nhg is around and let me pull him in
- [14:31:03] <XorA>
its the last trick I wish to perform :-)
- [14:31:04] <Vikas>
and also nand boot procedure is pretty well documented on omappedia
- [14:31:28] <XorA>
either the x-load produced from git is broken or the instructions are wrong
- [14:31:28] <Vikas>
did you follow instructions on omappedia or you have probs after following them?
- [14:32:22] <XorA>
I followed the instructions, its kind of hard to guess what is wrong as x-load doesnt seem to output debug to the debug uart
- [14:33:17] <Vikas>
hummmm.... I assume you pulled latest x-load ....
- [14:33:31] <XorA>
yes
- [14:33:59] <XorA>
I just need a know good starting point then I can debug from there
- [14:34:11] <XorA>
we want to write an Angstrom installer that installs to eMMC
- [14:34:13] <Vikas>
I presume no prob with x-load because I was able to use it just last week but I booted off of sd card...
- [14:34:26] <XorA>
my x-load works fine on SD
- [14:34:36] * mounika (~apps@192.163.20.231) Quit (Remote host closed the connection)
- [14:35:05] <XorA>
its not an urgent issue so no need for panic
- [14:35:11] <Vikas>
do you see any bad blocks errors... that can cause probs too
- [14:35:27] <XorA>
no
- [14:35:38] * mounika (~apps@192.163.20.232) has joined #linux-omap
- [14:35:39] <XorA>
and Ive done the write x-load to three seperate sections instructions

- [14:36:31] <Vikas>
i know couple of people here use nand booting so will find out
- [14:37:03] <XorA>
thanks, basically a known good working MLO/u-boot combo and I can use that to debug onwards

well, the screens are 2D only, not really 2010 like :)
- [15:44:35] <nhg>
will let you wear those 3d glasses :)
- [15:45:49] * XorA cant wait for Angstrom on blaze
- [15:46:48] <av500>
armstrong handles multihead?
- [15:47:59] <_koen_>
has done for years
- [15:48:08] <nhg>
XorA: I assumed you tried fastboot?
- [15:49:34] <orbarron>
morning all
- [15:53:44] <XorA>
nhg: fastboot? isnt that some funny android thing?
- [15:54:13] <XorA>
av500: bug is multiheaded
- [15:54:28] <av500>
multiheaded is a bug? :)
- [15:56:54] <nhg>
XorA: Ooops...keep forgetting you're an Angstrom user
- [16:01:33] <nhg>
so you flashed uboot and MLO into NAND and nothing happens?
- [16:02:37] <XorA>
nhg: blue light comes on
- [16:02:44] <XorA>
nothing else happens
- [16:09:59] <XorA>
all in my quest to use eMMC :-)

- [16:18:28] * prpplague is doing a fastboot port on u-boot for pxa310 right now

if I had 72 hours in the day I could keep up with all these crazy features :-)
- [16:19:07] <av500>
prpplague: funny, a guy is working on fastboot too, seems to be all the rage...
- [16:19:13] <av500>
guy here
- [16:19:23] <prpplague>
av500: yea, seems so
- [16:19:40] <prpplague>
av500: marvell isn't making it easy though :(
- [16:20:20] <XorA>
anyway it is time for me to be off out in the rain
- [16:20:28] <prpplague>

- [16:33:16] <chroos>
do you know the omap-l138 experimenter kit from logicpd ?
- [16:33:33] <prpplague>
i know of it
- [16:33:41] <chroos>
im very confused
- [16:33:57] <chroos>
they give a library with it, but in the library there is missing a lot of content
- [16:34:22] <chroos>
for eexample.. the l138 has 4 timer, but there are only 2 defined
- [16:35:03] <chroos>
another thing is the baseboard
- [16:35:41] <chroos>
there is the LCD connector.. it has the LCD R G B stuff on it, but not the LDC_D[] stuff
- [16:36:10] <chroos>
but on the connector there are lots of pins that are not connected, so it wouldt be a problem to connect them...
- [16:36:49] <prpplague>
sounds alot like logicpd
- [16:37:30] <chroos>
yes.... this wasnt their best job
- [16:37:53] <prpplague>
http://www.elinux.org/Hawkboard
- [16:38:06] <prpplague>
i was planning to pick one of those up when they become openly available
- [16:38:29] <_koen_>
yeah, hawkboard is nice
- [16:38:37] <_koen_>
too bad it doesn't have a PMIC
- [16:38:47] <_koen_>
but for that price I can't complain
- [16:38:50] <prpplague>
_koen_: oh they didn't use a PMIC on it?
- [16:38:52] <chroos>
i havent heared about the hawkboard, when i bought the kit
- [16:39:15] <av500>
_koen_: what you need the pmic for?
- [16:39:25] <_koen_>
prpplague: no, the l138-evm has one and that's how all the cpufreq code was written
- [16:39:34] <chroos>
but i dont want to use an OS.. that why i choose the experimeter kit, not the beagleboard
- [16:39:51] <_koen_>
so doing cpufreq on hawk will need some serious kernel mods at least (if not hw mods)
- [16:42:15] <chroos>
when i want to wake up the dsp, there is some flag, that is set, when its woke up
- [16:42:37] <chroos>
this flag only gets set, when i connect to the dsp through ccs
- [16:42:54] * robclark (~robclark@nat/ti/x-sudxwavsvwdtdlzj) has joined #linux-omap
- [16:43:11] <chroos>
do you know what i have to do on the dsp side to automatic set the flag?
- [16:43:49] <chroos>
(the arm is hanging in a loop, that checks for the flag until i connect through ccs)
- [16:46:46] * htns (~htns@61.6.64.6) has joined #linux-omap
- [16:59:33] <prpplague>
chroos: nearly everyone you are going to find is going to be running an OS on the boards
- [17:00:15] <chroos>
prpplague yes i know.. i hoped i would find someone, who actually ported an OS to the architecture
