- [16:18:20] <prpplague>
JimmyDB: i don't understand your question
- [16:18:59] <JimmyDB>
prp, I have some OMAP's I need to get rid of.

Luca256: got a question for you, I'd like to do http://www.omappedia.org/wiki/Porting_MCP_WLAN_to_Android#TxBiP_Calibration on my HTC Legend
- [16:38:19] <cartman>
But I fail apparently :)
- [16:38:58] <cartman>

- [16:39:03] <cartman>
not sure how recent is that

no idea, not my turf

- [16:44:03] <cartman>
Luca256: I just saw the "tainted" part :(
- [16:44:06] <Luca256>
the only thing I could say to you is, use the wl12xx driver :)
- [16:44:14] <cartman>
Luca256: Could you point me to the open source one?
- [16:44:25] <Luca256>
cartman: it's in the latest kernel
- [16:44:38] <cartman>
ah latest kernel is not Android's thing apparently :D
- [16:44:39] <Luca256>
works out of the box on pandaboard
- [16:44:45] <Luca256>
cartman: indeed :)
- [16:44:55] <Luca256>
just a sec, I'll try to find some android pointers to you
- [16:45:00] <cartman>
thank you :)
- [16:46:12] <cartman>
http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/wl12xx talks Android and says "luca"
- [16:46:16] <cartman>
good enough? :)
- [16:47:09] <Luca256>
yeah, it's a good place to start, but it also says "TODO: Add porting instructions for Android OS"
- [16:47:16] <cartman>
yep just saw it :)
- [16:47:27] <cartman>
that means it won't compile out of the box I assume :)
- [16:47:57] <Luca256>
when google update their kernel ;)

Luca256: this calibration, the chip does it by itself?
- [16:59:20] <Luca256>
yep
- [16:59:24] <av500>
no need to a power meter or so?

well, there is a part in what we call the INI part of the NVS, which has some FEM-specific settings
- [17:00:16] <Luca256>
but those are usually provided by TI
- [17:00:23] <av500>
FEM?

(or by the FEM manufacturer)

ok, the PA
- [17:00:55] <Luca256>

Luca256: Interesting.. I don't directly see how they solved eg. the Android-specific ioctls
- [18:08:40] <ius>
Anyway, there's little to wl12xx on android, if you take care of those ioctls it works reasonably well for me (some scanning issues I still have to resolve)
- [18:09:14] <ius>
So if he returns, 2.6.37+ or 2.6.36+mmc runtime pm should work for sdio wl12xx

but the kernel is too old, 2.6.32 and tiap_drv.ko is from some HTC binary dump it seems

just this damn tiap_drv is binary grrrr

Right well, I'm not familiar with the wilink drivers (and this isn't much -omap), but for wl12xx your kernel is probably a bit old (and you'd need to jump through additional hoops)..
